Holding the first computer game development boot camp at the initiative of the Kish International Campus of Amirkabir University of Technology
A computer game development training camp is being held at the initiative of the Kish International Campus of Amir Kabir University of Technology and in cooperation with the National Computer Games Foundation for students and scholars of the Sisters Seminary of Kish Island.
Dr. Yousef Rafiei, the head of the Kish International Campus of Amir Kabir University of Technology, while referring to the main mission of this campus in order to improve the quality of education on Kish Island, emphasized the need to hold skill-based and practical training courses for teenagers and young people. Accordingly, the first computer game development boot camp is being held for the first time on Kish Island from March 4 to 9, at the initiative of the Kish International Campus of Amir Kabir University of Technology and in cooperation with the National Computer Games Foundation, with the support of the Free Zone Organization and the Kish Education Department. This training camp will help teenagers and young people interested in computer games on the island to become familiar with one of the key industries in the media field, namely computer game development.
Ms. Lida Vahabi, the executive secretary of this educational event, explained the purpose of this event, which is to provide practical tools to introduce and promote the rich Iranian Islamic culture, empower and improve the social skills of adolescents and young people, including decision-making skills, teamwork, creativity and innovation, planning and goal-setting, and improving concentration. She pointed out the role of the sponsors of this event, including private and public institutions such as Simin Sepahan Construction Company, Kish Institute of Science and Technology, the National Airports Company, Kish Airlines, and the Science and Technology Park of Amir Kabir University of Technology.
The executive secretary of the event also mentioned the high number of applicants for this boot camp and said: 250 people interested in computer game development from schools and universities in Kish registered through the calls published by the event secretariat, of which 60 students from schools, universities, and seminary students of the Sisters of Kish were selected and participated in this event.
Dr. Farzaneh Sharifi, Deputy Director of Education and Research at the National Computer Games Foundation, also said that the Computer Game Development Bootcamp is a 6-day intensive training camp that includes 60 hours of intensive game development training in the form of technical, artistic, and design content that lasted for 4 days. The participants competed in a game development competition on the last 2 days, and the top teams were selected and awarded prizes. Holding this event is effective in improving the level of education of students, developing technological tourism, and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship among adolescents and young people as the future generation of the country, identifying talents, and cultivating elites in the field of computer games.
