Dr. Sabbagh Alvani, President of Kish International Campus and Secretary of the 9th Paint and Coating Congress

The Secretary of the 9th International Congress of Paints and Coatings, stating that we are facing an alarm for all paint-related industries, said: Necessary investments should be made to train elites in this field, because relying on elites can improve the current conditions in the paint and coating industries.
According to the Public Relations Department of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Ali Asghar Sabbagh Alvani announced at the 9th International Congress of Paints and Coatings, which was held at the Persian Gulf International Conference Center in Kish, that nearly two hundred papers were presented with the presence of experts in this scientific research event.
Stating that this congress was held with the efforts of the Paint and Polymer Research Institute of Amirkabir University of Technology, the Paint Scientific Association, the Kish International Campus of Amirkabir University of Technology, and the Paint Research Institute, he said: The scope of use of paints is very wide. Some factories, artisans, and sectors can play an important role in this field and take advantage of the opportunities created in this field.
The Secretary of the 9th International Congress of Paints and Coatings noted: We have both traditional factories and fully technical and up-to-date factories in the field of paints and coatings. Accordingly, the products of these industries have wide applications in various fields, including printing and packaging, oil and gas, automobiles, construction, etc.
Dr. Sabbagh Alvani emphasized: Considering the designation of 1404 as the year of investment for production by the Supreme Leader, paying attention to production is very important and necessary.
Dr. Sabbagh Alvani noted: Accordingly, it is quite clear that the Supreme Leader attaches great importance to the issue of production by valuing the country’s elite. Fortunately, Amirkabir University of Technology, as one of the most prominent industrial universities in the country, has always been diligent in training specialized and educated personnel in all engineering disciplines.
This professor at Amirkabir University of Technology noted: It is necessary to further strengthen the interaction of industries with universities that operate in the fields of coatings and paints, especially Amirkabir University of Technology and the University’s Paint and Polymer Research Institute.
The Secretary of the 9th International Congress of Paints and Coatings added: If we want to have high-quality products in various industries, we must first train a specialist in that field, which requires a good investment in the education and empowerment of human resources, which is the basic pillar of the country’s macroeconomics.
He continued: In coordination between the Kish International Campus and the Paint Scientific Association, it was decided to hold this international event in the field of paints and coatings on the beautiful island of Kish so that it would be easier to benefit from the presence of foreign guests and researchers.
He said: In my opinion, we are currently facing a warning for all paint-related industries. Therefore, training elites and facilitating their entry into related industries should be taken more seriously than before.
Sabbagh Alvani stated: We hope that with the mutual thinking that will take place in this congress between professors, researchers, and paint and coating specialists, the ground for further cooperation between universities and industry in the field of paint engineering knowledge will be provided.

The Secretary of the 9th International Paint and Coatings Congress emphasized the need to invest in training elites to solve the problems of large industries.

The president of Amirkabir University of Technology described the role of new technologies in advanced industries, including paint and coating industries, as important and key, and said: In this regard, the connection between different industries and scientific and research centers in order to establish a knowledge-based industry is very important and important.
According to the public relations of Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr. Alireza Rahaei stated at the 9th International Paint and Coating Congress held at the Persian Gulf International Conference Center on Kish Island: This congress, in cooperation with various groups, including the Paint and Coating Manufacturers Association, including Amirkabir University of Technology, which was formed by various researchers and professors, is of great importance alongside the position of various industries.
He continued: If we refer to statistics and information at the global level, today countries spend about two and a half million dollars, equivalent to three or four percent of their gross national product, as damages caused by corrosion. Therefore, corrosion, which plays a serious role in various sectors and industries today, and statistics that were raised in the 1980s, more than 20 years ago in our country, were about 18 thousand billion Tomans in damages, which today have certainly multiplied.
The president of Amirkabir University of Technology also noted: Given the high amount of damage that is raised worldwide in terms of corrosion and the economic effects that this issue has, organizing such conferences and providing scientific solutions in this field can prevent this damage to some extent.
Dr. Rahai emphasized: If we consider different economic and industrial sectors, we will see the important role of new technologies in advanced industries, including paint and coating industries. Because today, in various industrial sectors of our country that are competitive with foreign industries, knowledge-based industry or knowledge-based production is an important and key slogan, and this slogan is also used in various and important industries. In this regard, the relationship between different industries and scientific and research centers in order to make the industry knowledge-based is very important and important.
The president of Amir Kabir University of Technology noted: Environmental compatibility in production is a very important issue in the world. Today, corrosion of materials will definitely cause environmental damage. In this regard, the role of environmental protection and the use of appropriate coatings is an important issue. We can claim that industrial sectors that do not have scientific and research infrastructure in the field of paints and coatings cannot enter the value chain of advanced products and will incur great economic losses.
Dr. Rahai emphasized: In the construction industry, which is one of the most important and employment-intensive industries in the country, corrosion has caused significant damage in the past, especially in sectors where steel is used, and has severely reduced the life of buildings. In Kish Island and the southern regions of the country, buildings are in critical conditions in terms of corrosion. In the 1980s, the average life of buildings was about 5 to 10 years, meaning that these buildings had one-fifth of the average global life span. However, given the volume of investment that was made in this industry, the effects of this economic damage decreased.
He continued: “Given the special perspective that exists today in the discussion of coatings, the use of paint and coating in industry has also been developed with a scientific approach. In addition, various scientific solutions that are proposed in this field, such as the use of composites in steel or similar industries, have succeeded in increasing the lifespan of structures several times compared to the past. This has resulted in an important economic return.” Rahai added: “I hope that the findings presented by colleagues in various scientific centers in this congress will form a suitable space for exchanging experiences so that we will succeed in achieving an important transformation in the use of appropriate paint and coatings in various industries at the end of this congress.” Accordingly, it is necessary to thank all sectors that participated in holding this scientific gathering. I hope that the final result of this congress will be a platform for strengthening the partnership between the important paint industry and the country’s scientific centers.”

The president of Amir Kabir University of Technology emphasized the need to strengthen the connection between large industries and research centers to make the industry knowledge-based.
