■ Aims & objectives: Mobile applications are becoming an important part of our life, this evolution has created a new range of cyber threats. In this practical course, students will learn how to analyze android applications in order to find bugs and security vulnerabilities.

2 Establishing a test environment 3 hrs.  (day 1)
3 Android debug bridge: introduction to ADB, capturing traffic/log 3 hrs.  (day 2)
4 Assessment of local storage and obfuscation 3 hrs.  (day 2)
5 Analyzing network traffic: proxy servers and traffic monitoring 3 hrs.  (day 3)
6 Man-In-The-Middle attack 3 hrs.  (day 3)
7 Xposed framework: Xposed framework installation, modules, and hooking technique 3 hrs.  (day 4)
8 Decompiling and repackaging android applications: Apktool, Smali codes, and debugging 3 hrs.  (day 4)

■ Registration method

Applicants should initially register at kish.aut.ac.ir (short-courses menu) and upload their scans in good quality. After registration, the tracking code is allocated to the applicant, which must be stored and provided to the University’s affiliate. Applicants must choose the option (Short-course on Android Mobile Application Security Testing) in the registration process. After registering, the University will contact them and set the final time, location and method of tuition fee payment.

■ Aims & objectives: Internet of Things (IoT) finds its application in industries that prefer automation, energy-efficient systems, smart devices etc. Even reports state that more than 50 billion devices will be connected with IoT by 2020. But, learning IoT is not very simple, as the system works on complex procedures and modules. The best way to learn IoT is by building projects and learning while doing it.
